Disabled Vet

Pros

Ordered on weekend, shipped on Monday!

Cons

No Winter proofing to protect the track from Ice and Snow. NEEDED because of the way the power cord moves. Instructions are incomplete. IE, "Pull a piece of string taut from the top of the track to the bottom. Mark any places where the string is not parallel with the track. Check the results by using the string again. Track and string should now be parallel." BY MAGIC?!?!

Continued Cons... Tools list is incomplete. Does not mention string or that you need different sized Phillips screwdrivers, and it seems like I am forgetting something else. Hey, at least I only forgot one. Followed directions for track placement, but I have to lean forward so that back of chair does not rub. Never mind being not able to swivel the chair at the bottom because the rail goes beyond the bottom of the stairs. No mention of this in setup for measurements. Parts list information lead to us believing we were missing bolts. We wasted an hour trying to find replacements when they were attached to the top section. No Mention of it in the manual. NO OUTDOOR model installation Instructions. (i.e. Cover placement) Cover is Hard, all but impossible, and DANGEROUS for a disabled person to put on because the lift does not stop over the top landing area, but down one step. It is IMPORTANT to grease the track where wheels for chair travel every 2-4 months, but the gap is NARROW, and they want you to lubricate the sides, (4 total with 2 wheels) a 90 degree bend! Top section requires 2 brace pairs, but it is so short (2 feet) that despite only having a 6 1/2" rise on our steps, we could only fit one brace pair on. NO dielectric compound for weatherization of connections. Cover for switches and connections is too small. Top connector for remote switch does not fit. The manual says to run the remote call unit wire in the top track channel, AFTER you installed the lift. Now the brackets are blocking the channel, so you cannot install it properly without removing the lift. I guess that's enough........

Exactly what I wanted!
Aug 19, 2013 4:41 PM

A Little About Myself

79 Years old and still going to the office daily. I do not intend to retire.

Pros

The stair lift is exactly what I wanted. I had broken my leg and couldn't go up the outside stairs of our beach house.

Cons

The stair lift developed a fibrating mode close to reach the bottom. It would then shut off. I was told to pull on the cable to get a reset. This worked at first and then it started turning off on a frequent basis.

Service & Delivery

The stair lift arrived ans scheduled. The installer came as scheduled and installed the stair lift. He was cooperative and did a good job. I ONLY RECEIVED ONE COVER!!! SHOULD I HAVE REDEIVED THREE COVERS AS STATED IN THIS INFODRMATION YOU HAVE SENT ME HERE.
Reference to the above, I contacted the representative I purchased the lift from and he is taking immediate action to get the problem resolved. My communation with with Tres McLurin has been excellent and he is oontacting the installer and I am sure the problem will be resolved.

Outdoor chair cover too small
Nov 1, 2012 4:07 PM

A Little About Myself

Unsatified customer

Pros

Chair does performs adequately

Cons

Poor service follow-up. No resolution.
I purchased the deluxe outdoor stair-lift it came with the larger seat. The cover that was provided was too small and requires my elderly renter to struggle with it to even get it partially on. This is a safety issue as he does not have good balance and he is close to the top of stairs. I was told by the manfacturers they only make one size "Sorry" and I was told by Ameriglide that they could provide a cover for it but the cost would be above $100.00 This unit cost over $2,700.00 I feel this issue was not resolved adaquately. I would not purchase this item at this price without a larger cover.
